They help to describe anatomical features, operative procedures, surgical instruments, and diseases. Unfortunately, many have become distorted or are inaccurately applied. Few of us understand their derivation or the remarkable people and controversies behind them. This book explores the origins of seventy eponyms in the field of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery and anatomy.
