Abstract
The twenty-first century has seen more and more nuanced studies of human and nonhuman animal entanglements. Transdisciplinary research has been a catalyst for this increase. Fine et al. (2023) detail how a diverse mix of social and natural science disciplines has combined under the banner of anthrozoology. Similarly, DeMello (2021) showcases how scholars from varying backgrounds joined in creating human-animal studies. These academic developments are a recognition of the inseparability of human and nonhuman animal life throughout society and also the critical role shared disciplinary knowledge has in understanding such entanglements.
