Abstract
The changing demographics of healthcare demand a significant reassessment of the ways in which healthcare is delivered (Crisp 2010). Interprofessional education (IPE) is an important strategy to address these issues (McPherson et al. 2001; Thompson and Tilden 2009; World Health Organization (WHO) 2010). The WHO (2010) Framework for Action on Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice mandated all higher-education institutions to embed IPE in their curricula. Actions proposed to achieve this included: agreement on a common vision and purpose for IPE; development of interprofessional curricula according to principles of 'good' educational practice; and creation of frameworks for clear interprofessional outcomes.
This work is a case study presented within Forman, Dawn and VanLeit, Betsy. (2015). Implementing Interprofessional Education: What Have We Learned From Experience? (Chapter 14).
