Abstract

Collective Action Community Community Engagement Empowerment Policy Recovery Resilience
Effective community-based recovery addresses economic, social, health, and infrastructural needs, ensuring a comprehensive and sustainable process. Community-based resilience and recovery are crucial aspects of disaster risk management, emphasizing the empowerment of local communities to actively prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. By building strong social networks, utilizing local knowledge, promoting inclusivity, and adopting adaptive governance, communities can improve their recovery capacity and reduce vulnerability to future risks. The key is fostering a collective understanding of risk and empowering communities to self-organize for collective action. Educational initiatives and simulation training are essential to enhance the knowledge, skills, and awareness of both individuals and organizations within communities.
