Abstract
Children's geographies, or more correctly the geographies of children and young people, explore the relationship between children, young people, and space. Space matters as it impacts directly on the ways children interact with society and on their physical and mental well-being. It is also an important determinant of their life chances. Children's geographies is increasingly recognized as a significant focus of geographical research, especially in relation to the lives of children in the majority world. Children's lives are being directly affected by the changing global environment. Children's geographies has much to offer in understanding and responding to these changes.
