Abstract

Our diet can impact many mouth conditions, such as dental caries (tooth decay), dental erosion, and a variety of soft tissue conditions. The causes of poor oral health are usually multifactorial, meaning no one thing can be identified as the ‘main culprit’, and what causes one issue may also be a contributing factor for another. It is essential, therefore, to consider the many ways that diet can impact one’s oral health.
