Abstract

behaviour problems mental health mental health disorders reading reading difficulties problem behaviours
This study examined the nature and prevalence of reading difficulties related to behavioural problems and mental health disorder. The paper emphasised the importance of achieving early literacy, as children with poor reading skills clearly face serious ongoing disadvantages in comparison with their reading peers. The implications of these findings for early intervention and the prevention of problems were highlighted.
