Abstract
This chapter will begin by discussing the role of restorative justice in achieving positive peace and will give some examples of restorative justice practices. A case study of Aotearoa New Zealand will consider principles of restorative justice of Māori as the indigenous peoples, before giving an account of the restorative justice processes that have been adopted since the 1990s in Aotearoa New Zealand. There is evidence of some good consequences of these practices and that this works in favor of social justice, thus adding to the maintenance of positive peace.
