Abstract
Feminist Judgments of Aotearoa New Zealand is a collection of key New Zealand judgments, re-written from feminist perspectives. The collection is part of a global series that includes collections from Australia, UK, Ireland, Canada and USA. Each judgment is accompanied by a commentary, explaining its context and feminist perspective. This chapter re-writes the Court of Appeal’s judgment in a case about fishing-related mortalities of New Zealand sea lions, from an eco-feminist perspective. Its accompanying commentary is written by Joanna Mossop.
