This bible study on Matthew 27:26-31 examines the repeated stripping of Jesus by soldiers in the praetorium prior to crucifixion. It invites readers to consider the forced stripping in the context of ancient and modern prisoner abuse and torture, and to recognise the stripping as an historical example of sexual harm that has stayed hidden in plain sight.
