This chapter in Mining Truths: Festschrift in Honour of Geraldine Smyth OP (edited by O’Grady et al.) examines the reconciliation as a political, social, and theological challenge in Northern Ireland. It examines the mixed attitudes to reconciliation in the churches and wider society and then discusses insights from projects at the Irish School of Ecumenics (ISE), including ‘Moving Beyond Sectarianism’ (1995-2000), ‘Visioning Reconciliation in Ireland (2009-2011), and ISE’s work in public theology.
