Abstract
Undescended testes (UDT) represent one of the most common disorders seen by paediatric surgeons and occurs in approximately 1%-2% of boys. The major clinical significance of UDT is that if orchidopexy is performed, i.e. an operation to bring the testis into the scrotum before the age of 2 years, this will likely maximize male fertility potential and also potentially reduce the risk of subsequent late malignancy of the maldeveloped testis.
