Abstract

Investigations were made on the localization of Anisakis larvae in the organs of herrings and mackerels, the dependence of the herrings' infestation hazard on the length of the fish, the extent of the threat to herrings and mackerels in the fishing grounds around the British Isles and the appearance of nematode larvae in Baltic Sea herrings.
