Abstract

histocompatibility antigen autoimmune disease heredity inheritance lymphatic system mouse obesity
We have recently postulated that major and minor histocompatibility antigens are the determinants for autoimmunity in NZB and NZB x NZW mice and that they cause perturbations in idiotype-paratope networks by clonal deletion, thereby allowing the emergence of clones reactive with particular self-antigens. in accord with this hypothesis, we envisage the NZO obesity gene as coding for a minor histocompatibility antigen.
