academic achievement cognitive function comorbidity depression DSM-III disorder(s) education intelligence IQ mental health mental health disorders
This study examined the literature and data from the Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health and Development Study on the association between depression and cognitive or academic impairment. The paper concluded there was no strong association between depression and cognitive impairment but that associations found were mainly due to the overlap between depression and other disorders.
