Abstract

animal experiment digestive system duodenum electron microscopy intestine ischemia mouse small intestine theoretical study
In an attempt to gain some insight into the cause of spontaneous loss of epithelial cells from the duodenum of NZB mice, it was found that lesions similar to the spontaneous lesions could be reproduced consistently in NZB and non-autoimmune mice by ligating a small branch of the coeliac artery. This paper reports the results of a scanning electron microscope (SEM) study of the changes induced in duodenal epithelial cels at different times after ligation.
