Abstract

Sodium aurothiomalate is used in the therapy of rheumatoid arthritis. Studies by others on the subcellular distribution of aurothiomalate in rats have suggested a possible association of gold with lysosomes. In the present experiments the subcellular distribution of gold in the livers of rhesus monkeys was studied at different intervals after the animals had been given [195Au]aurothiomalate.
