1. The technical and anatomical difficulties of transcranial oblique radiography are elucidated and a reliable procedure is described.
2. The dimensions, functional relations, and general characteristics of the normal temporomandibular joint as seen in radiographs are established.
3. Typical departures from normal anatomy and function are described and related to clinical signs and symptoms.
