Abstract
Frequent references to transpyloric prolapse of the gastric mucosa are to be found in the North America medical literature since the first accurate description by Elison and Murray Wright in 1925. There have been few if any reports however on this subject in the British literature and it is with this in mind that this work has been undertaken.
The purpose of this thesis is to examine the clinical, pathological and radiological material available at this time at the Mayo Foundation Rochester Minnesota U.S.A in an endeavour to ascertain the nature of this abnormality, its natural history, if any, and the relationship of the radiological picture to the clinical syndrome.
