Abstract

The story of carotid stenting is not without controversy, and the boat may be rocked again by the multicentre prospective observational study by Zapata-Arriaza et al. investigating 354 patients receiving primary carotid stents for symptomatic and asymptomatic disease in this issue of European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. The analysis was used to develop a nomogram for predicting 12 and 24 month risk of in stent restenosis.
