Abstract
This special issue of the Journal for the Study of the Pseudepigrapha showcases several studies presented at, or inspired by, the Worlds Above and Below Conference hosted by the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand in July 2024. This three-day hybrid conference brought together a diverse range of scholars from across the fields of Classics, Second Temple Judaism, and early Christianity united by a shared goal: to explore the rich potential of interdisciplinary discussion, particularly among disciplines that often work in isolation from one another. With over 50 participants—roughly half attending online and half in person—the conference reflected a strong desire for such interaction, with delegates from New Zealand, Greece, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States engaging in vibrant, cross-disciplinary dialogue.
