Abstract
This case study explores how outdoor leisure is shaped by dominant assumptions of whiteness, masculinity, and able-bodiedness, while highlighting diverse experiences that challenge these norms. Through a collection of case studies, it examines barriers to inclusion, from race and gender to age, disability, and socio-economic constraints. The issue showcases acts of resistance and empowerment, illustrating how individuals and communities reshape outdoor leisure to be more accessible, inclusive, and reflective of diverse identities and experiences.
