Abstract
Today, food production faces significant challenges driven by rapid population growth. In addition to economic concerns, issues such as food security, food safety, and climate-related disruptions such as droughts and floods poses serious threats. The food system itself contributes to approximately a third of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In response to these interconnected challenges, the United Nations adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 as a global call to action aimed at ending poverty, eradicating hunger, protecting the environment, and ensuring peace and prosperity for all by 2030.
