Abstract
Beginning in the late 1960s, lesbians and gay men started to campaign in both Australia and New Zealand for liberation, equality, and justice. In the subsequent decades, other sexual and gender minorities have come on board, bringing these countries ever closer to their ideals of liberal and tolerant nations.
