Abstract
[…] It appears that although the host society is desirous of Europeanising Malaysian-Singaporean students they are depending upon participation in the extra-curricular activities as a reliable agency and are not aware of the subtle implications of some of the forms of social controls that operates upon them. Until and unless they realise the fallacy of their assumption, Malaysian-Singaporean students will continue to alienate themselves in some ways from the host society.
Alienation of Malaysian-Singaporean students from New Zealand society in not expressed in any obvious or hostile form. As a social group Malaysian-Singaporean students lack the expert skills in organization which are necessary for presenting their case to New Zealand society. [extract from Conclusion]
