Abstract

Calcium in human nutrition Soups -- Manufacture calcium human nutrition soup bones acid
ln New Zealand, acid Is used in cooking corned beef or steak with vinegar and tomato. Bones are used for making meat stock for soup and in this they are simmered in water for a number of hours, then removed and vegetables added. Soup is probably one of the most frequently and widely prepared dishes in the New Zealand dietary. Children are usually very fond of soup which can aet as a medium for a large quantity and variety of vegetables which they otherwise might not eat in sufficient amount. If it were possible to utilise calcium from bones it would be of considerable advantage especially for people who do not drink milk or who are allergic to milk.
