Artificial intelligence can now converse in a human-like manner. The rising prominence of artificial intelligence (AI) as a source of information owes much to its capacity for natural language interaction. However, there has been little exploration of the legal consequences of artificially generated communications in defamation. This gap must be addressed in anticipation of cases arising from artificially generated material.
