Abstract
The scheelite of the Glenorchy district has been known and mined for many years. Both the geology and the mining of the deposit present interesting problems. The origin of the lodes is still a matter of doubt; and the unusual nature of the ore-body makes the mining methods of especial interest.
This survey is intended to cover all phases of operations carried out at the Glenorchy Scheelite Mining Company’s mine. The subject matter will be dealt with under the following headings:-
1. Physiography and Climate
2. Geology
3. Historical
4. Mining
5. Metallurgy
6. Marketing
7. Comparative
8. Effects of the War
