Abstract
In his short response essay, Joshua C. Gellers (2024) offers three criticisms of the arguments we make in ‘What matter matters as a matter of justice?’ (Winter and Schlosberg 2023). While we are used to criticism and debate on issues of ecological and multispecies justice (MSJ), it is surprising to see a reader misses the mark so widely. Here, we identify and respond to three main errors Gellers makes in his critique, which appear to stem from some fundamental misreadings and misunderstandings of our work.
