Abstract

Pelvic exenteration (PE) is one of the most radical procedures in oncologic surgery, performed for locally advanced or recurrent pelvic malignancies involving colorectal, gynecologic, urologic, or musculoskeletal tumors. The objective is the achievement of microscopically negative margins (R0), which remains the single most important prognostic factor.
