Abstract

Cancer incidence in indigenous people in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the USA: a comparative population-based study. In The Lancet Oncology, Suzanne Moore and colleagues report generally lower overall incidence of cancer in indigenous populations compared with non-indigenous populations, but a higher incidence of preventable cancers, in four high-income countries (Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the USA). Their findings highlight the substantial shortcomings in the data available to assess the burden of cancer in indigenous populations in many countries.
