Abstract

first aid knowledge intelligence training
Mothers' knowledge of first aid was assessed using a questionnaire comprising 13 multiple choice questions. The results showed that approximately three-quarters of the mothers correctly answered 70% of the questions. Whilst higher intelligence and previous training in first aid were shown to be associated with better scores, the effects were small. Some aspects of first aid which deserve more emphasis in training courses were identified.
