Abstract
Abstract This article elaborates a range of non violent pacifist responses to the invasion of Ukraine and resistance to the development of a new cold war between the East and the West. It focuses attention on the relief of suffering; diverse forms of non violent resistance and the creation of ripe conditions for a ceasefire and a negotiated settlement. It argues for a more vigorous multilateralism and an end to competition between the United States and Russia over which country is to dominate the global order in the 21st century.
