Abstract

Reflotron capillary cholesterol measurement
A Reflotron was used to measure total capillary cholesterol in eighteen year olds. Means were lower than expected. The low levels may be genuine, or may reflect sample bias, operator error in the form of digit preference or inaccurancy of the reagent strips. General practitioners using the Reflotron for cholesterol screening in their practices should take sources of error into account when interpreting their results.
