Abstract

reading reading ability
Three groups of children were compared, those who had long term reading problems and those who were slow readers at age 7 but who showed good reading progress by age 13, and those without any history of reading problems. The three groups were contrasted on various measures of cognitive ability, behaviour and family background measures. Only maternal reading ability differentiated between the groups.
