This report describes some characteristics of seven year old children with delayed speech development. 872 seven year old children were investigated in respect of motor development, language and reading development, intelligence and some behavioural problems. Two speech-delayed groups were distinguished, one with low IQ and one with normal IQ. Their differential characteristics are described.
