Abstract

The long-term impact of war service on the hauora (well-being) of 28th (Māori) Battalion veterans who served during the Second World War is not well known despite the unit’s high casualty rate. Around 3600 men served with the battalion and total casualties amounted to 2589, many wounded more than once.
