Abstract
The understanding and treatment of bipolar disorder (BD) present continuous challenges to clinicians and researchers, especially those progressing through early and mid-career (EMC) stages. A recent Needs Assessment of EMC clinicians and researchers conducted by the early and mid-career committee (EMCC) of the International Society for Bipolar Disorders (ISBD) showed that the majority of survey respondents were publishing fewer manuscripts than their goal and lacked confidence writing grants focused on BD. These findings highlight a critical need for ongoing education and training for EMC researchers, focused on building and supporting research skills.
