Abstract
Tessa Petersen (concertmaster, first violin) and Heleen du Plessis (principal cello) performed with the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra, City Choir Dunedin and Southern Youth Choir, Anthony Ritchie's commissioned work From the Southern Marches. The work was commissioned by historian and writer George Griffiths. It tells the story of the people who have settled in Otago, depicting the cultural, social and economic historical development of the region. Soloists included Emma Fraser (soprano), Anna Leese (soprano), Joel Amosa (Bass-baritone) and Manase Latu (tenor).
