Abstract
This work is Chapter 4 of Prof. Wayne Gillett's forthcoming memoir Our Life: Medicine, Family, Fairways & Everything In Between, which describes the life of Wayne and Dianne Gillett.
The first two chapters of the memoir are dedicated to Wayne’s ancestry, his family and his life. Chapter 3 summarises Dianne’s family and upbringing and her distinguished golfing career. Chapter four is dedicated to Wayne Gillett’s medical career that spans his life from his medical student days through to his career in reproductive and academic medicine. His life in medicine was diverse with many stories to tell. He was privileged at being involved with modern day advances from their very beginning – including assisted reproductive technologies, microsurgery and laparoscopic surgery.
