Nordic Wittgenstein Review Symposium on James R. Shaw’s Wittgenstein on Rules: Justification, Grammar, and Agreement.
With this symposium, Nordic Wittgenstein Review inaugurates a new section of the journal. The goal of such a symposium is to offer a platform for discussing recent books on Wittgensteinean themes. The format is somewhat standard: the author writes a Précis of the book, the commentators provide their interventions, and then the author replies to each commentator. For this first symposium, the book is Wittgenstein on Rules: Justification, Grammar, and Agreement (New York: Oxford University Press, 2023. Pp. x +319), byJames R. Shaw (University of Pittsburgh). The commentators are Oskari Kuusela (University of East Anglia), Alexander Miller (University of Otago), and Hannah Ginsborg (U.C. Berkeley).
