Abstract
This report brings together and summarises several refereed overseas reports. They are written for lay people to understand the findings about the violence from the Dunedin Study. The report showed, among other things, that partner violence is strongly liked to cohabitation at a young age, a variety of mental illnesses, a background of family adversity, early school leaving, juvenile aggression, conviction for other types of crime especially violent crime, drug use, long-term unemployment and motherhood at an early age.
