Abstract

Oncology Cancer services Cancer treatment Cancer treatment volumes Cancer surgery volumes Radiation therapy volumes Systemic therapy volumes Cancer and Chronic Conditions (C3) Collection C3: Cancer and Māori C3: Improving quantity and quality of life for Māori Oncology and carcinogenesis Epidemiology Health services and systems

In this report, we describe current volumes of publicly-funded surgery, radiation and systemic therapy delivered to Māori and non-Māori New Zealanders with cancer between 2015-2022 (n=206,021). Given the strong disparities in cancer outcomes for Māori, and the additional barriers faced by Māori along the cancer care pathway, we also describe and compare treatment volumes received by this group to European cancer cases.
