Abstract
This training package is for the person ‘on the ground’ who is assisting a client and their whānau when a telehealth wheelchair and seating assessment takes place. We describe this person as the ‘on-site assistant’ - you may be a therapist, a family member, a wheelchair sales rep or technician, or a teacher’s assistant. In brief, this training package has three learning objectives. It will help you
1. Clearly understand your responsibilities before and during a telehealth session.
2. Confidently keep yourself, and the client, safe.
3. Practice skills needed for this role, so that you gain confidence.
