Abstract

‘Unbundled legal services’ and ‘unbundling’ are terms that can be used to describe the practice of providing a limited set of legal services in a litigation matter, accompanied by the expectation that the client will proceed on behalf of themselves on all other aspects of the matter. This paper considers the importance of unbundling in New Zealand to increase access to justice and suggests reform measures to enable more unbundled legal services.
