Rural Areas within Twenty Territorial Local Authorities, Compared
This is the fourth report in a series sponsored by the Taranaki Bishop’s Action Foundation (BAF). The series aims to build understanding of the changes occurring in rural in New Zealand, with particular attention to the Taranaki region. This fourth report examines the rural districts, rural centres and minor urban areas of another ten territorial local authorities and compares them to the rural areas of the ten territorial local authorities compared in report two. The ten territorial local authorities selected include case study areas for a Department of Geography project at Otago University being conducted under the auspices of the National Science Challenge (NSC) Building better homes, towns and cities: Ko ngā wā kāinga hei papakainga.
