Abstract:
This thesis describes the application of structural analysis to the schists of the Middle Shotover Valley. Particular emphasis has been placed on structures relating to a post-metamorphic phase of deformation, in particular the Moonlight Fault. Structures related to earlier metamorphic events have been mapped and their time relations and significance are discussed. Investigations have been supplemented by petrofrabric analysis of selected specimens. [--Introduction]
