Abstract:
This article concerns the results of a discussion held at NetHui 2017 on the new blockchain technology. The author explores the privacy issues raised in this discussion, such as the ability to achieve complete anonymity through manipulation of a particular chain’s privacy settings. The author concludes that, despite such potential issues, we should encourage early adaption of new technologies based on informed choice and support, without fear that privacy will be a barrier.
