About OUR Archive

Access University of Otago quality research outputs, including theses, journal articles, discussion papers, reports, books and more. The service OUR (Otago University Research) Archive is an institutional repository, which aims to collect, preserve, and make available digital copies of the intellectual output of this institution.

Archiving a published version, final manuscript or preprint of your work is a vital step in preserving and promoting access to your research outputs. OUR Archive offers the combined benefits of preservation, access, promotion, increased visibility, networking and usage tracking.

  • Makes your research visible and accessible. Publications are indexed by search engines (Google, Google Scholar, DigitalNZ, etc); this can increase the ranking in Google Scholar and reach a broader audience.
  • Provides persistent access. Each item is assigned a unique handle (persistent URL).
  • Gathers statistics on views and downloads. Usage statistics are available for all items and department collections in OUR Archive, and includes statistics based on city and country.
