Abstract
The cannabinoid type 1 (CB1R) and type 2 (CB2R) receptors, both G protein–coupled receptors (GPCRs), are promising therapeutic targets implicated in several chronic diseases including depression, inflammation and osteoporosis. Covalent and fluorescent chemical tools have been invaluable in studying GPCR pharmacology and expression, which is pivotal to drug discovery. To date, CB2R selective covalent ligands have not been reported and there are limited examples of selective fluorescent CB2R tools.
This project aims to develop CB2R selective covalent and fluorescent tools that can be used to study CB2R localisation and expression.
